Is The Redskins-Cowboys Rivalry Really A Rivalry?

Is the Redskins-Cowboys rivalry really a rivalry? I don't think so and Michael Wilbon doesn't either because a rivalry is when you can never predict which of the two teams will win and the Redskins-Cowboy rivalry is just the Cowboys winning almost every single game so that is not a rivalry. But could Mark Brunell bring back the team to make this a rivalry. Or could the Cowboys just defeat the Redskins like almost always. Well if you want to know who won you could either watch the game, read my blog tomorrow, or check on a website like Espn, ect.

You have asked a very good question and you have answered it yourself; there won't be a rivalry unless Mark Brunell and the Redskins step up. Let's hope they can do that tonight. The most exciting rivalry so far this season was last Monday night matchup of Philadelphia and Atlanta. I know, as most of your readers know that Atlanta cleaned Philly's clock. This reader is looking forward to their next meeting.
Good luck tonight, your gonna need it!

I must admit that the last few years have been a real test as to whether this is a rivalry. But, with much admiration for Michael Wilbon, and with all due respect to you, I think that there is a bit of historical memory being lost.

For years we have witnessed the rivalry. I could elaborate on the late nights or sorry disappointments. Let me put it to you this way. A Redskin win vs. the Cowboys is not guranteed until 15 minutes after the game is over.

I would like to propose three ways to measure not only whether this is a rivalry, but what is the definition of a true Redskins fan:

A. Tickets on E-bay for this game are going for over $600 a piece -- parking passes alone are selling for $60 - $1500.
B. How do you feel when you hear a reference to either the word "Dallas" or "Cowboys"?
And finally:
C. The painful choice when you need to decide who to root for when a Dallas win will benefit the Redskins.

I look forward to your comments.
